National Costume
My national costume for Miss Universe 2014 will resemble the important figure of Lucia. For Centuries, during the winter-light festival, Lucia who was originally a Saint by the name of Saint Lucy, has been celebrated on December 13th, during the darkest time of the year.
In these sometimes dark times in the world where we see violence, hate, crime, terror, war, inequality, poverty, sorrow and pain. We want to spread out the message of compassion and light among human beings. We wish to inspire people to choose light over darkness, and to choose love and compassion over hate and violence.
It is an extraordinary privilege and responsibility to represent Sweden in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant and by wearing this costume I hope to be able to spread a meaningful message to the world. Designer of the costume is Aviad Arik Herman http://www.aviadarikherman.com/

National costume fitting
Hi Everyone,
I just got back from my National Costume fitting in Gothenburg yesterday! My national costume this year will resemble Lucia, one of Swedens most significant emblems. She was originally a Saint by the name of Saint Lucy and we hope to spread her message of light, hope and compassion by wearing this costume at Miss Universe 2014.
